The Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs congratulates Team N’danaan (Team Gambia) for their outstanding performance in the Building Public Finance Capabilities for Nutrition Programme, a competitive initiative organized by CABRI – Collaborative Africa Budget Reform Initiative, funded by the EU/BMZ, and implemented by GIZ, involving Ghana, Liberia, and The Gambia.
Between January and September 2025, officials from the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Gender, Children & Social Welfare, and the National Nutrition Agency collaborated to address challenges in the financing and coverage of the School Feeding Programme. Using the Problem-Driven Iterative Adaptation (PDIA) approach, Team N’danaan secured stakeholder support across relevant ministries.
Representing the Ministry of Finance were Fatoumatta Daffeh, Baboucarr Mbowe, and Horoja Sambou. Their work informed the 2026 National Budget, resulting in a 50% increase in funding for the School Feeding Programme.
The Ministry commends Team N’danaan for turning policy analysis into tangible budgetary outcomes and earning recognition for Best Understanding of the Problem.
